Christmas is in three weeks, the economy is in shambles, and people are getting laid-off left and right all over. There’s an old saying, “Desperate times call for desperate measures”. Unfortunately, some people feel there desperate measure is to come snooping around your house to see what you have that they might be able to get some quick cash for. Intec Security Solutions programs every one of our security systems to test on a weekly basis so we know if it’s not communicating with our monitoring station. Obviously your vehicle is not part of your home security system, so make sure you get into the habit of locking your car and/or truck whenever you get out. Also, make sure you lock your home, including the garage doors, each and every time you leave and before you turn in for the night. And if I can give you a big tip, this may sound dumb, but ARM your security system when you leave AND before you go to bed. I tell people all the time, your security system is just like insurance…you don’t need it till you need it! While we’re at it, make sure your smoke detectors are installed and working properly! No matter how much you water that Christmas tree, it’s still going to get dry over the next couple of weeks. Check your Christmas lights, too. Make sure there are no broken bulbs or frayed wires!
